Refund & Cancellation Policy

What you pay for, when it is delivered, and exactly when you get your money back

Last updated: 26 August 2026

What This Policy Covers

This website, investfirst.co.in, is operated by Amol Deshmukh, trading as InvestFirst. This policy sets out the fees, delivery terms, cancellation rights and refund terms for the paid services offered through this website.

The Paid Services

Two paid services are offered, and only these two. Both are Loan Planning Reports: a written analysis of a borrowing decision, prepared for you and delivered to you.

  • Car Loan Study — an analysis of a proposed car loan: what the borrowing actually costs you, how the tenure and down payment change that cost, and how the EMI sits against the rest of your finances.
  • Home Loan Structuring Study — an analysis of how a home loan is best structured: loan amount, tenure, prepayment approach, and the effect each choice has on total interest paid and on your monthly cash flow.

These are the only services for which payment is currently collected. If a new paid service is introduced, this page will be updated before it accepts a payment.

Mutual Fund and Insurance Services Are Not Paid For Here

Stated plainly, because it matters: no fee of any kind is collected through this website for mutual fund or insurance services. You are never asked to pay for them here, and no payment page on this site relates to them.

Amol Deshmukh is an AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-220322) and a licensed insurance advisor under IRDAI regulations. Those services are remunerated by commission paid by the asset management companies and insurance companies, as explained in the Terms & Conditions. Because you pay nothing for them, this refund policy does not apply to them — there is nothing to refund. Mutual fund investments and insurance premiums are paid directly to the AMC or the insurer, and any redemption, free-look cancellation or premium refund is governed by that scheme's or that policy's own terms, not by this page.

The Equity Research Course

An equity research course is listed on this site. Enrolment is not open, no fee is payable and no payment is collected for it through this website — the course page takes waitlist entries only, and joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Because no money changes hands, there is nothing this policy can refund. When enrolment opens, the fee and the cancellation and refund terms for the course will both be published before the first payment is accepted.

Fees

What Each Report Costs

All fees are in Indian Rupees (INR). The range reflects how much work the case needs — a single straightforward loan sits at the lower end, a complex case with multiple lenders, existing borrowings or joint applicants sits at the higher end.

Car Loan Planning Report (Car Loan Study)

₹2,000 to ₹5,000

Home Loan Structuring Study

₹5,000 to ₹10,000

GST is not currently applicable to these fees. The amount quoted to you is the amount you pay — there is no tax, platform charge or other addition on top of it.

The Fee Is Confirmed in Writing First

You are never asked to pay an amount you have not already agreed to. After discussing your case, the exact fee is confirmed to you in writing by email — a single figure, not a range — together with what the report will cover. A payment is requested only after you have that email and have accepted the figure in it. If your case turns out to need work beyond what was agreed, the revised fee is put to you in writing and you are free to decline it.

Delivery

A Digital Service, Delivered by Email

A Loan Planning Report is a digital service. The report is prepared as a PDF document and delivered to the email address you provide. Nothing is physically shipped. There is no courier, no delivery address, no shipping charge and no tracking number, because there is no physical item at any stage.

Turnaround

Your report is delivered within 5 working days of receipt of complete information.

When the Clock Starts

The turnaround is counted from the point at which you have provided all the financial details the report needs — not from the date of payment. This is not a technicality: the analysis cannot begin without the inputs, so a report cannot be produced from a payment alone.

You are told at the outset exactly what is required — typically the loan amount and lender terms you are considering, your income, your existing EMIs and liabilities, and the timeline you are working to. The moment the last of it reaches me, the clock starts and you are told so.

If information is missing, you are asked for it promptly rather than left waiting. Time spent waiting on a reply from you does not count towards the turnaround.

Cancellation

Before Work Begins — Full Refund

You may cancel free of charge at any time before preparation of your report has begun, and you receive a full refund of 100% of the fee paid. No reason is required and no cancellation charge is deducted.

Once the Report Is in Preparation — 50% Refund

Once preparation has begun but the report has not yet been delivered to you, you may still cancel. In that case 50% of the fee paid is refunded, and the remaining 50% is retained to cover the analysis already carried out on your case.

"In preparation" means work on your specific case has actually started — it is not triggered by payment alone. You are told by email when preparation begins, so you always know which of these two positions you are in before you decide.

After Delivery

Once the completed report has been sent to you, the service has been delivered in full and the fee is no longer refundable. See What Is Not Refundable below, which explains why.

How to Cancel

Email amol@investfirst.co.in from the address you used, saying that you wish to cancel. That is the whole process — there is no form to complete and no reason required. Your cancellation is acknowledged by email, and that acknowledgement confirms which refund position applies to you and the amount being returned.

Refunds

If the Report Cannot Be Delivered

If for any reason the report cannot be delivered to you — the case turns out to be one I cannot properly analyse, the work cannot be completed, or the service simply is not provided — you receive a full refund of 100% of the fee paid. You do not need to ask for it and you do not need to argue for it. This applies regardless of how much work had already been done.

How the Money Is Returned

Every refund is made to the original payment method used for the transaction. If you paid by card, it goes back to that card; by UPI or net banking, back to that account. Refunds are not issued as credit, vouchers or a discount against future work, and are not sent to a different account from the one that paid.

How Long a Refund Takes

Approved refunds are initiated within 7 working days of the cancellation being acknowledged. Once initiated, the time for the money to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer, which is outside my control — this is typically a further few working days. You are sent confirmation when the refund has been initiated.

What Is Not Refundable

A report that has been delivered to you is not refundable. The reason is straightforward: the deliverable is the analysis itself. Once you have read it, you have received the entire value of the service, and unlike a physical product it cannot be returned or un-read.

This is not a way of avoiding responsibility for poor work. If the report you receive does not cover what was agreed in writing before payment, tell me — that is a failure to deliver the service, and it is dealt with under If the Report Cannot Be Delivered above. What is not refundable is a report that was delivered as agreed but whose conclusions you did not like, or a loan decision that you changed your mind about afterwards.

Payment Disputes

If you have been charged incorrectly, charged twice, charged an amount you did not agree to, or a refund has not reached you when it should have, contact me directly. Please do so before raising a chargeback with your bank — a billing error is almost always faster to fix at source.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the services offered change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and the version in force when you paid is the one that applies to your transaction. How your personal data is handled is set out separately in the Privacy Policy.

Questions About a Payment?

If anything on this page is unclear — what a report will cost you, when it will arrive, or where your refund has got to — just ask. You should know exactly what you are paying for before you pay for it.
